As a Sales Manager at Hyatt Place Hyatt House Charleston Historic District, you will fill a vital role in supporting your hotel’s financial goals through selling guestrooms, catering services, and banquet facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues.
The Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include managing your designated market by way of conducting site inspections, negotiating guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines, and soliciting new accounts and business for the hotel. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals and contracts for clients, preparing all inter-departmental communication such as group resumes, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizing Hyatt systems and operating standards, and coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate. The Sales Manager will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales, and other staff meetings. The Sales Manager works as a team member with hotel operations.

- College degree preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred
- Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Must be outgoing and a proven self-starter
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
- Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
